Ready is a National public service campaign designed to educate and empower the American people to prepare for, respond to and mitigate emergencies, including natural and man-made disasters.
Ready asks individuals to do four key things:
Stay informed about the different types of emergencies that could occur and their appropriate responses
Make a family emergency plan
Build an emergency supply kit
Get involved in your community by taking action to prepare for emergencies
Cal OES is responsible for the coordination of overall state agency response to disasters. Assuring the state's readiness to respond to, recover from all hazards and assisting local governments in their emergency preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation.
Listos California Emergency Preparedness Campaign is an effort based on an investment of public funds by Governor Gavin Newsom and state lawmakers, to ready our most vulnerable populations for disasters like wildfires, earthquakes and floods, and now public health emergencies like the COVID-19 pandemic, before disasters strike. Available in many languages.
ReadyOC is a public service campaign aimed at educating and empowering Orange County residents, businesses and the community to better prepare for emergency situations.
The goals of the campaign are to get local residents better prepared for a variety of emergency situations that could impact the county and also to offer opportunities for concerned citizens to get involved in local readiness efforts.
